SCLS BESTSELLER Club’s Most Popular Author

According to Bookscan, James Patterson has sold more books than any other author (to-date!) and he is certainly the most popular on the Scott County Library BESTSELLER List. (To join the Scott County Library System BESTSELLER Club, click here).

Patterson worked in advertising and had a successful career as an executive at J. Walter Thompson Worldwide before leaving to write novels full-time.

In September 2009, Patterson signed a deal to write or co-write 11 books for adults and 6 for young adults by the end of 2012 and he has had 10 movies made of his novels, with a few more in production now.

He is the only author to have five novels reach #1 on the New York Time Bestseller List – and he has done it every year since 2005!

And not all Patterson’s works are thrillers. He now writes Young Adult action and humor novels and has started a website to encourage reading in young children.

In a 2011 AARP interview, Patterson talked about working with co-writers, his favorite books as a kid, and the casting of Alex Cross for Hollywood.

Check it out here and don’t forget you can get old and new James Patterson works in various formats through the Scott County Library System:
