Best-selling Author Vince Flynn dies at 47

Vince Flynn, author of the popular Mitch Rapp series, died in June after battling prostate cancer. He was 47-years-old.

Flynn was open about his struggles with dyslexia and an advocate for his Catholic faith. He originally self-published his first book, Term Limits, because he had so many rejections from publishers. In 1999, it became a paperback bestseller and his career on the NY Times Bestseller list was born.

Read more about Flynn’s life in his NY Times obituary.

Flynn’s latest novel, which started a new series, was unfinished at the time of his death, but his friend and co-writer Brian Haig had worked on it from the beginning and it is now coming out in May 2014.

SCLS Bestseller members already have holds on this book and will be among the first to get it next May.

Until we receive more information regarding Brian Haig’s continued involvement with the new Untitled series, Flynn will remain on the BSC list. Stay tuned to this blog for more updates!
